Kitten has performed all over the world, appeared in countless magazines, newspapers ,video clips, Books , Hollywood films and Album covers, Graced catwalks and performed for companies and celebrities alike. Lux Interior, Iggy Pop and the Live action photos of Lily Christine ! Really and probably in that order. I Love all of their explosive energy. When I first started to perform Burlesque there was very limited live footage available to watch, but I had collected men's magazines for years and I loved the Burlesque costumes and the fun that these girls action photos showed . So when I developed my routines I had just assumed that they were shaking and bumping and grinding, very fast and hard like Lux and Iggy , ha ha .. It was not until much later that I had seen real footage and was a bit disappointed by how slow they actually moved. I think secretly many gals would love to be a performer but are so nervous, do you have any tips on getting out and performing. Yes , First just make up your mind a do it ! take a class , or go out and watch a lot of different acts, see what you like and what you do not like about each one , listen to different music and see what really inspires you to move, think about what comes naturally to you, things that often people over look about them selfs, and then roll all that up and make it your own . Then Practice , Practice Practice . Film your self and re work what you do not like and perfect that which you do. And this is what I tell all of my girls, "Nobody out there knows your routine ,If you make a mistake ,smile threw it ,because the audience will not catch it. What ever happens just pretend that it was meant to happen that way. The audience wants to have a good time, so just go out there and have a good time with them ,smile , laugh . it is a great give and take of energy ! " Your outfits are gorgeous, do you have any favourite desginers. No , I design and make all of my own costumes . To me burlesque is more than just the dance, it is the whole package. I love the creative side of designing and making my own costumes , the challenge and the art of it. I do have a wonderful girl who makes all of my corsets , her name is SUE NICE, ( www.nicecorsets.com) and I would highly recommend her for any custom corsets or hard to do designs you may need, she is very detailed and also such a nice person to work with . Kitten you have been one busy lady, You have become a burlesque legend winning Exotic World, performed all over the world and have worked with other stars such as Dixie evans.and many other legends of today. You have been in books and video clips, films plus so much more.Is there any exciting projects lined up for the future. Yes I am traveling ( which is my favorite thing to do ) to Europe again this spring and summer where I will be performing in Finland, UK and in France. You are renonwned with such great burlesque shows like the Velvet Hammer, when you started out in the early days of your burlesque career. Whats your opinion on how burlesque has grown since those times and peoples acceptance of it. Well it has grown 1000 times since the 1990s ! And it is wonderful that the first question put to me is no longer " Well what is the difference between burlesque and a girl at the strip club ? " If you look around you will see the influence every where, just think of what your average bra and pantie looked like in the 90s and how much style they have now, or how every pop star has added a burlesque theme in one or more of their videos. It is now a catch word ,only I find myself still defending and describing it, "no the pussy cat dolls are NOT burlesque" , and so even though people know the word I still believe a lot of the mass public are still getting it wrong. You have a fabulous Kitten De ville , School of burlesque , what is is like teaching girls the Art of the tease. and what can women take from your classes. It is the most wonderful experience for me to watch these girls blossom into their selves, The confidence, the fun, the creative spark that comes out from these workshops is the most inspiring thing for me. Everything is inside of them just waiting to jump out ,and for some reason they have allowed me to be their key to release that . I find this a huge honor. My workshops last 6 weeks , each time there are about 10 strangers who enter on the first day and 10 close friends who leave by the last . I think the girls take away confidence , friendship and the feeling that 'if I can do this then I can do anything !'
